Welcome to the Community Adventure Program. Before we get started, we
need to get some feedback about your outdoor experience, your thoughts
about the environment, your community, etc. Please answer this survey

Cottonwood Institute Winter Staff Training

The Cottonwood Institute just completed our Winter Staff Training on Saturday, January 5, 2008. This training was open to qualified instructor candidates who were interested in facilitating winter programs for the Cottonwood Institute. We covered: winter safety and risk management concerns, winter survival priorities, quinzhee snow shelters, emergency snow trench shelters, and setting up a winter base camp. Troy is poking his head through a textbook snow trench (Left). Our next Staff Training is scheduled for April 18 – 20, 2008.
