Weekly Outdoor Clinic Calendar

CAP students are expected to broaden their outdoor knowledge and skill base by tapping into the rich educational resources in their community. In order to accomplish this goal, students will take advantage of the free outdoor skills clinics, workshops, and slide shows offered by outdoor retail stores in the Colorado Front Range. Below are some of the hot events going in the community this week:

Tuesday, February 17, 2004 – Avalanche Awareness 101, Mountain Sports, Boulder, 7pm, Free.

Wednesday, February 18, 2004 – Avalanche Awareness 101. This clinic provides an introduction to the avalanche phenomenon, avalanche terrain, decision-making, and rescue. Eastern Mountain Sports (EMS), Boulder, 7pm, Free. For more information, call (303) 442-7566.

Thursday, February 19, 2004 – Waxing Social, Mountain Sports, Boulder, 6pm, Free.

Thursday, February 19, 2004 – Die Another Day In tonight’s presentation Chris Alstrin shows his new video that showcases mixed and ice climbs in the Canadian Rockies. Come check out this awesome video about an unbelievable ice climbing area. Neptune Mountaineering, Boulder, 8pm, $5.00.

Monday, February 23, 2004 – Banff Mountain Film Festival. Mountains inspire stories of courage and passion. The Banff Mountain Film Festival delivers those stories in ways that will amaze, inspire, and move you. Boulder Theater, Boulder, 7:30pm, $13.00 at Mountain Sports or $16.00 at the Boulder Theater.
