Cottonwood Receives Xcel Energy Foundation Grant

Xcel Energy FoundationCottonwood Institute is grateful to receive a $15,000 grant from Xcel Energy Foundation for the second year in a row! This gift will help support our CAP Classes at AXL Academy, Angevine Middle School, Centaurus High School, New Vista High School, and STRIVE Prep – Westwood during the 2022-23 school year. Because of the continuing support of partners like Xcel and our generous donors, Cottonwood is able to teach environmental courses that inspire students to spark change in the communities.

We are honored to partner with Xcel Energy and their commitment to transition to 100% carbon-free electricity by 2050. They are on track to achieve their goal to reduce carbon emissions by 80% by 2030 compared to 2005 and they have already achieved a 51% emissions reduction. The Xcel Energy Foundation is the charitable arm of the company that invests in organizations that align with their focus areas and goals.

Come back and visit the Cottonwood blog to see how we are putting Xcel Energy Foundation’s grant to use and to see all of the programs they helped make accessible to Cottonwood Institute students this school year!
