Cottonwood Receives Elevations Foundation Community Grant

Ford at the Elevations Foundation grant receptions Elevations Foundation has once again chosen Cottonwood Institute as one of their Community Grantees in 2022! We are grateful to be entering our second year in a row as a grant recipient. Cottonwood joins 12 other nonprofits who were awarded grants this year, including our friends at Wild Bear!

This grant will enable Cottonwood to continue to support the Community Adventure Program (CAP) in Boulder County. CAP is our core educational program offered during the school day for academic credit in middle and high schools across the Front Range, including in Boulder, Lafayette, Aurora, and Denver. During CAP, students go on hikes and explore their neighborhoods; embark on overnight camping trips; learn about and discuss local environmental issues; and design and implement a student-directed Action Project in their community.

Elevations FoundationEach year, Elevations Foundation supports local nonprofits in early childhood development, environmental education and sustainability, and mental health. Since 2010, they have provided over $3.97 million in community grants! This organization is a division of Elevations Credit Union, an award-winning Colorado financial institution with more than 170,000 members. Their goal is to provide members with empowering banking experiences and creative solutions. They host free financial seminars to adults and youth to support financial literacy in our communities.

Our 2022-2023 Community Grant kicked off on November 29th, 2022 at a reception, where our founder & executive director Ford Church was able to meet other community grantees and hear from Elevations Foundation. Thank you so much for your support this year!
