Coohills’ “Beats on the Creek” Concert Series Benefits Cottonwood Institute!

Beats On The CreekBeats on the Creek has become a summertime staple in downtown Denver, bringing people together on the banks of Cherry Creek to enjoy food, drinks, and free live music, all to support local nonprofits! This year’s concert series, presented by Coohills Restaurant, is extra special because all proceeds from the event support Cottonwood Institute in our mission is to connect underserved students to the outdoors!

Held on the pedestrian bridge at Speer Blvd. and Wewatta St., the first three Beats on the Creek shows featured local acts Mr. Majestyk’s 8-Trac Revival, The Merger, and Under A Blood Red Sky. Crowds have braved the unusually hot Denver summer to eat, drink, socialize, and enjoy the music—and of course, to show their support for Cottonwood Institute!

One of the biggest challenges CI programs consistently face is transportation, which is why all net proceeds from Beats on the Creek will be used to purchase our own 15-passenger van. This effort will allow us to expand our programming capacity and connect more youth to their environment. With the generous support of Beats on the Creek attendees and sponsors, we are more than a quarter of the way to our goal!

Just one more show remains for this summer. Join us on the bridge Tuesday, August 6th for a performance by Colorado-based Eagles tribute band The Long Run, starting around 6:30 PM. Stop by the Cottonwood Institute booth to learn more, and to take a photo in our photo booth provided by Icon Frame. You can also donate to our van “Fun Drive” here!

A huge thank you to Coohills Restaurant for choosing Cottonwood Institute as the nonprofit beneficiary of Beats on the Creek 2019 as well as our 2019 Beats On The Creek Sponsors, including: Jackson Family Enterprises, Treasury Estates Winery, K Vintners, Cobrand, ENT Credit Union, The Fries Foundation, and Kelly & Walker.
