Introducing Mr. Matt Norrdin

Hey folks,

As you may know, Ford Church with the Cottonwood Institute has enlisted me to teach the CAP program this year.  I’m extremely excited to be involved with a program that has a great track record and a very bright future and I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself.  In my spare time, I teach this class with New Vista High School,
which is where I completed my student teaching requirements for the CU School of Education teacher licensure
program in 2004. In addition to my
teaching license, I have a B.A. in Philosophy from the University of Colorado. I’ve been a lead instructor for outdoor
education and wilderness expedition programs for over three years and I also am
a rock climbing instructor/guide at The Spot Climbing School. I have a Wilderness First Responder medical
certification and have been fortunate enough to gather over ten years of
personal and professional experience in rock and ice climbing, mountaineering,
telemark and alpine skiing, and backcountry trekking. I’ve worked and volunteered for such
organizations as The Rocky Mountain School of Expeditionary Learning, The American
Alpine Club
, The Access Fund, Wilderness Ventures and The Boulder County Youth
Corps.

Thanks for completing the CAP Pre-Course Survey and it’s great to have all of you in class!

Matt
