Housing and utility Resources in Boulder County

  • For anyone seeking to apply for supports including food assistance (SNAP), Medicaid (Health First Colorado), Child Care Assistance, and Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LEAP), you can use:
    • Colorado Program Eligibility and Application Kit (PEAK) at Colorado.gov/PEAK
    • The MyCOBenefitsmobile app (search your app store to find this)
    • Complete a paper application in English or Spanish and email to imaging@bouldercounty.org. This can be done either by scanning the application to us or by taking clear pictures of the individual pages and emailing the files to us.
    • Food Assistance (SNAP) only: Call Hunger Free Colorado for help applying at (720) 382-2920. Their offices are open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

  • Through its Temporary Rental and Utility Assistance program (TRUA), Denver can provide emergency rent and utility payments. Call 3-1-1 and press 6.
  • Denver Human Services offers eviction and rental assistance for people who are at risk of losing their housing. 720-944-4DHS (4347) or denvergov.org/humanservices.

  • BLM 5280 has recently launched a Housing Assistance fund for Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) households in need. Individuals can apply for up to $2500.

Colorado Unemployment Benefits

Anyone who is working fewer than 32 hours a week and who is earning less than approximately 55 percent of their average wage over a 12-month time period are eligible to receive unemployment benefits.

CO’s labor department said employees who have seen their hours reduced or have been laid off because of new restrictions placed on businesses in Colorado may file an unemployment claim at coloradoui.gov.
