CAP students are expected to broaden their outdoor knowledge and skill base by tapping into the rich educational resources in their community. In order to accomplish this goal, students will take advantage of the outdoor skills clinics, workshops, and slide shows offered by outdoor retail stores in the Colorado Front Range. Below are some of the hot events going in the community this week:
Tuesday, April 13, 2004 – Backpacking Basics for Women. What do you put in that pack, anyway? The experts from the Women’s Wilderness Institute not only know what you need (or don’t need), they will also give tips about how to pack for the best weight distribution, and how to travel light and safe in the backcountry, as well as ideas on where to go. Thursday, April 15, 2004 – Death on the Mountain: Women on K2. A film about the women who lived and died pursuing the second highest mountain in the world. Neptune Mountaineering, Boulder, 8pm, $10.00. Proceeds benefit the Access Fund.
