Former AXL Academy CAP Students Gathered as an Alumni Community for the First Time to Enjoy an Afternoon of Fishing in Aurora

Cottonwood Institute launched their first ever Alumni event for AXL Academy Community Adventure Program (CAP) students at Jewel Wetlands Park in Aurora in early August just before the start of the new school year. It was a small but mighty gathering where younger generations got to meet the older generations and see how environmental connection and outdoor skills can inspire even after graduating from CAP.
This fishing trip also became an intergenerational experience where families, mothers, and siblings, young and old, were able to inspire each other in exploration, connection, fishing skills, and fun. Cottonwood is excited to host more Alumni events for AXL Academy each year to continue growing the community and connect with each other long after each CAP class ends.
