Firefighterwf2_2 Wildland Firefighter Project - We have teamed up with Colorado Firecamp in Salida, Colorado to practice wildland firefighter techniques, fire behavior, fire mitigation techniques, as well as essential camping and wilderness survival skills.

Dsc03527Stone Age Survival Project - We collaborated with Earth Knack in Crestone, Colorado to learn about essential camping and wilderness survival skills, Stone Age survival skills, and complete environmental service projects, including: composting, organic gardening, and green building and construction methods.

Horsehc2Horse Caretaker Project - We collaborated with the Denver Zoo and Mountain Mammas Trails and Training to learn essential camping and wilderness survival skills, horse back riding techniques, and complete much needed horse caretaking projects, including horse washing, bridal cleaning, and habitat projects at Gold Lake outside of Ward, Colorado.

Meetawolferic3ew2Endangered Wolves and Animal Tracking - We collaborated with Mission: Wolf to learn essential camping and wilderness survival skills, animal tracking, wolf ecology, and completed much needed wolf caretaking projects, including feeding the wolves and habitat restoration projects.

Abbondanza1cap17Community Adventure Program (CAP) - We collaborate with New Vista High School in Boulder, Colorado, P.S.1 Charter School in Denver, CO, and Manual High School in Denver, CO to teach students essential camping and wilderness survival skills and teach them how to change the world by facilitating a student-directed Action Project to tackle water and storm drain pollution issues.

133288774603_0_albDesign Your Own Course - We have collaborated with Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado to pilot two new courses: Physiology of Survival and Winter Survival. We worked with Mr. Brown’s Outdoor Class and Mrs. Bogar’s Biology class to provide real world context to textbook concepts and the courses were a big hit!

Survival Workshops for Adults - In 2009 we began offering a series of 1-2 day survival workshops for adults focusing on winter survival, survival shelters, survival fires, and a survival overnight to simulate a real survival situation.

Mtevansgroupphotome3Mt. Evans Volunteer Project - Each year we partner with Colorado Fourteeners Initiative to complete an “Adopt-A-Peak Project” to help protect and preserve Colorado’s 14,000 foot peaks. It is our little way of walking our talking and giving back to the mountains we love and use.
