FREE SURVIVAL CLINICS AT REI:

Free REI Survival Skills Clinics: Popular shows like Survivorman and Man vs Wild are captivating audiences nationwide, but do you have what it takes to survive? The Cottonwood Institute is excited to host a series of FREE 3-Season and Winter Survival Skills Clinics at REI in Boulder and Denver. During these clinics you will participate in an interactive survival scenario, learn about survival priorities, tips, strategies, and techniques, and will learn how to make a personal survival kit.

Below is a list of our upcoming Winter Survival Clinics:

  • Monday, March 4th, 2013 from 6:30pm – 8:00pm at the REI Englewood Store located at 9637 E County Line Rd, Englewood, CO 80112.

Below is a list of our upcoming 3-Season Survival Clinics:

  • Wednesday, April 10th, 2013 from 6:30pm – 8:00pm at the REI Boulder Store located at 1789 28th Street, Boulder, CO 80301.
  • Wednesday, April 17th, 2013 from 6:30pm – 8:00pm at the Denver Flagship REI Store located at 1416 Platte St, Denver, CO 80202.

THE THROWDOWN: Saturday, August 24, 2013

The Throwdown: The  Throwdown is an annual event for fun, happy go-lucky people who want to practice the art of tossing a bean bag into a hole in a piece of decorated plywood, a.k.a. Cornhole, all for a good cause. The 2013 Throwdown, Saturday, August 24, 2013 is from 11:00am – 4:00pm at Congress Park in Denver. This year, the intense competition will be limited to the first 32 teams. COLORADO GIVES DAY: TBA

Colorado Gives DayCottonwood Institute is rallying downtown businesses and supporters for happy hour to “give where they live…and work” for Colorado Gives Day. We are encouraging downtown businesses to take off work a little early on Colorado Gives Day to make a donation to support the Cottonwood Institute, while networking with other downtown businesses and enjoying a much deserved happy hour drink. Companies that donate $500 or more will be listed as a sponsor for our Colorado Gives Day happy hour and we will help leverage media exposure generated that day. Donations will help support our programs to connect underserved kids to the outdoors and empower them to tackle local issues in the community. Come show your support for the nonprofit community on Colorado Gives Day! Location: TBA.
