Scholarships

The Cottonwood Institute is committed to making all of our courses accessible to students regardless of their financial situation. The Jason F. Griffith Scholarship Fund was named after the Griffith Family because of the outstanding generosity, support, and because of their commitment to help inspire future generations of active community leaders and environmental stewards. To apply to receive a Cottonwood Institute scholarship, you must first follow the course registration procedures located on our Register For A Course Today! link. Please note that the initial course registration non-refundable deposit is waived for scholarship applicants. Once you have submitted your Registration Form, please Download the Jason F. Griffith Scholarship Fund Application Form, complete the form, and mail all required information and attachments to:

After reviewing the scholarship information, the Executive Director will make recommendations to the Cottonwood Institute Board of Directors who will make the final decision to allocate scholarship funds. The Cottonwood Institute awards partial scholarships and expects students to help pay for a portion of their course through getting a part-time job, babysitting, finding a sponsor, collecting donations, etc. For help coming up with creative ideas to raise money for your course, please contact us and we would be happy to brainstorm some ideas with you. Once scholarships are awarded, students will be asked to put down a non-refundable deposit to secure their spot in the course. If you have any questions about the details of the Griffith Scholarship Fund Application Form, please contact us at 303.447.1076.
