Tis’ the Season for Snowshoes!

snowshoesAt Cottonwood Institute, we aim to help students explore and appreciate the outdoors in any weather! It’s almost time for winter programming to begin and as we prepare to enter our snowy season, we could use your help!! During the winter, each of our CAP classes participate in a winter field day. We take students into the mountains to a snowy wonderland and teach them winter weather activities including; fire starting, quinzhee building, animal tracking, snow science, and a favorite of students and adults alike, snowshoeing!

We are working towards having a pair of snowshoes for every student on our trips! That’s where you come in! If you, or someone you know, has a gently used pair of snowshoes that are just lying around, we can take them off your hands! If you don’t have a pair to donate but are interested in making a donation, just $50 can help us to purchase a used pair. Please assist CI in reaching our ultimate goal of being able to send each student out with a pair of snowshoes on our winter trips! For more information, contact our Administrative and Logistics Coordinator vicki@cottonwoodinstitute.org.

And check out a couple of winter trip blogs from last year to see how your donation will help!
