Schools & Community Organizations

We have designed a series of 1-day field trips for schools and community organizations that do not have the time or ability to incorporate a longer quarter/semester-long program into their existing curriculum or schedule. These 1-day programs are perfect for busy teachers that are looking to add value to their classroom curriculum and help provide real world context to textbook concepts. Relax, we handle all of the logistics and planning details. All you need to do is help promote the course to your class, school, or group, and we will take care of the rest! Our 1-day programs include:

Winter Survival: Practice winter survival scenarios, learn winter survival priorities, practice making snow shelters, learn about thermodynamics, and how to deal with heat loss and hypothermia in a winter survival situation.

Avalanche Science: Get up to the mountains to learn about avalanches, avalanche terrain, how to analyze the snow pack, snow stability tests, route selection, avalanche rescue techniques, and practice using avalanche beacons.

Physiology of Survival: Practice interactive survival scenarios, learn survival priorities, practice survival shelters, and learn what happens to the physiology of your body in a survival situation, when you are consumed with fear, at altitude, and what happens to your body when you get too cold or too hot.

Physics of Fire: Practice interactive survival scenarios, learn survival priorities, practice survival fires, and learn the physics behind making fire by primitive and modern methods.
