Executive Director’s Message

Thank you for visiting the Cottonwood Institute website!

In times like these, it is refreshing to hear about kids who are out in the world making a difference for their communities! Through the Cottonwood Institute, a special group of students are growing as leaders in ways never seen before.

Through our courses for schools and community organizations, kids are getting out of the classroom, exploring nature, and learning about their environment. Perhaps most importantly, they are taking on student-driven “Action Projects” that are improving their school, neighborhoods, and the world around them.

Unfortunately, due to budget cuts, many schools and community organizations are cutting funding for extracurricular programs and field trips. To make up for these budget cuts, we reach out to people like you who want our kids to have opportunities to explore the outdoors and to share our passion for the environment.
